Interview results from Britannia

Has anyone had any news (good or bad) from the interview and simulator with Britannia over the past few weeks. I had mine last week and am still waiting for a yes/no/maybe. They gave the impression that they were looking for people to start immediately, so I assumed that feedback would be quite quick. Anyone care to comment?

A friend of mine was phoned last week with the good news that he'd got the job on the new B737 operation. He has previous jet experience but is not B737 rated.

As for me, I never heard a thing since sending in the application form. Oh well

They are still deciding on who to take. It seems that they will wait until all the interviewing is complete to make a decision, rather than selecting those that they want after each session. I'm not sure if it makes our chances any better or not!

Im reasonably sure they make their decision that very night of your sim/interview.

As for applying and not hearing anything, perhaps a phone call to HR to ensure they actually received your application is called for?

Hi MAX,

I phoned Britannia two weeks after sending the form, but the person I spoke to said they had hundreds of forms to go through and couldn't yet tell me if they'd received mine.

No worries though; I've had some recent good news from an equally respectable airline.

What do you think are the chances that someone with 600 hrs turboprop experience will stand a chance of being selected ?

Probably as good as anybody else's chances. They don't seem to care as much about your experience as about you as an individual. They recruit anyone from 200 hr frozen ATPL'rs on up.

Very Civil Pilot - any news yet?

No news yet, but as stated above I hope its just a matter of time before they get round to making a decision.

Well, i think after this amount of time no news has to be somewhat good news. If they didn't like you they probably would have sent something by now. They're likely just waiting to see who comes through in the next week or so and fill the rest of the spots with whoever they like best. Good luck!

Hi Very Civil
I think I took the interviews and sim same day as you.
I called yesterday. They say letter within 10 days.
A colleague of mine who took the sim the day before us received a negative answer last thursday.
So there s still hope for us, I guess...

I phoned the HR dept yesterday. If you were 737 rated you were called to a sim ride but if you had no 737 rating like me you will have to wait until after Xmas for a sim ride.It sounds like they are waiting until all the initial days are done ,then they will call the non type rated people.
I have waited 4 weeks with no news so I called them expecting the standard PFO but got some good news instead.Just thought you would like to know what was happening

Have any 737 rated people been offered jobs and given start dates recently? So far it all seems to be pilots needing to do the type rating that have been given a chance.

Greatly Appreciated,

Smile Tis the season to be jolly

Approach, does that mean you have an interview.

There has been plenty on Pprune recently, there are a few regular Ppruners who know quite a bit about Britannia and interviews. I don't think it would do any harm sending a pm to them.

I suppose you have tried the ipa and balpa ??

Good luck, but please let us know which job and what experience level you are.

Merry Christmas

Goldfinger
