Course of Action
Wondered if anyone could shed some insight if my plans seem to be intact or if there are some holes which I haven't forseen.
Currently have a FAA ATP, FAA 737 type (sim only), 3000 total, 350 multi, all instructor ratings. I am a US citizen but work authorization in the EU (german born). Will have my fATPLs done in June and the JAA CPL through (NAS) by September.
I am told that I can do the JAA IR in 15hrs in the UK? Where should I go? What is the cost?(approx.) Since I do not have 500hrs of crew time I assume I need to do the MCC. Since I wish to fly MD-11/747 for a cargo company- (let other people carry the screaming hordes(
I was thinking of Intercockpit in FRA as they have the MD-11. I am assuming this MCC is a JAA course? Does it need to be done in the UK also?
A Lufthansa instructor here in PHX told me that I should look at a JCC rather than a MCC. What's the difference and can the JCC be done in lieu of the MCC?
What are your thoughts? Would be glad to hear any suggestions as to how you would crack this nut.
Cheers
