BMi advert.

Has anyone seen the thing on FI's website about bmi looking for fo's in 2004?

Does anyone know anything about it?

They say 200hrs needed, but what do you think they will be looking hours wise?

cheers.

Said advert is somewhat ambiguously worded, as (by my thinking) it could be interpreted that a 737 TR is required.

Possible +ve

Not sure, got a lot of mates high up in Midland who all say the company is having big problems. BMIs recruitment has been on hold waiting for the disbandment of the F100 fleet (F100 pilots then convert to baby 737s.) but that date changes from day to day.
I know they are understaffed and probably getting top heavy with very few FOs coming through, I have been told that nearly 1/4 of the fleet have captains flying with captains because there are so few FOs. Together with Easyjet sucking the market dry of 737 type rated guys I think it could be positive.
But I agree the hours stated is very ambiguous - if it is truely just FATPL and 200 hours TT, they are opening themselves up to being swamped with applications - Not a way to start an efficient recruitment scheme. Just off to call my contacts in Midland and see what the gen is. Will let you know.

I have tried to send out a cv to the email address listed in flight international...but keeps getting returned 'undeliverable'. Anybody got any ideas if the address is kosher or contains a mistake?

They are looking for type-rated crews if they can get them. They have recently taken on a few guy's from Maersk after they changed to DUO and got rid of the 737s.

With Easy and Ryan sucking up alot of people, who knows whether they'll get enough experienced 73 jockey's.

The ad is for type rated crews with a minimum of 200hrs on type for an F/O position NOT 200TT. (sorry, don't want anyone to get their hopes up unfairly)

Bob double checked spelling and also cut and pasted as a back up but still bounced back ... guess you were lucky and I'll still keep trying. No update of the bmibaby website though as there are only vacancies for Cabin Crew and Team Members showing.

I have found on several occassions that I get "bounced" generally due to security at the airlines end. Some attachments not allowed in certain formats? Not a computer wizz so won't even try to bore with details-rely on good old snail mail if all else fails. Then again with the posties striking........

Not sure guys but surely the advert was just asking to express an interest??? i.e. do they want all the application forms? I read it just as having been a tester to see what kind of response they might get.

They have probably put in a filter to reject any applications else their servers would crash.

What thinketh you?

OK, I think that it's a simple mail server problem, I tried and it was only the third time that I didn't get an "undeliverable".

Maybe bmibaby have a few IT problems, don't worry!

This as far as i know is open to type rated with experience first i.e 200hours then type rated with no experience - 22 FO's need in total. Maybe non type rated will eventually get a look in.

Hope this helps.
