'smokie'.........why are you named so? have you been burned by flybe in the past?

would you care to back-up your statement on why one would want to leave flybe for easyjet after 2-3 years?

90+Pilots can't be wrong, ask them why they left to go orange.
Well the Majority of them anyway, a few have gone to BA, VS, A2000 etc.

Its still a very high turn over which ever way you look at it.

Anyone else have the final interview today?? How did you get on?

I was expected a real grilling on company ops, but what I got was more of a relaxed chat. Not sure what to think, but at least they plan on telling us soon!

Hooooorrrrayyyy Yipeeeeee Yeeeehaaaa

I can't believe there are no other posts on here ... hopefully the others are out getting drunk (which I can't because I have to get up for work at 2am!!!) ....

The Flybe interviews were Wednesday and Thursday.

I phoned CCAT this morning and I AM IN!!!!!!! I am one of the lucky six!!!!! I can't believe it, I really can't explain how I feel!!! After years of trying, and applying to all the schemes along the way, I have done it!!!

All I know is that since I first found this website in 2001 whilst I was applying to BA, this has to be the most useful, morale boasting, info packed site on the internet ... The support and advice you receive on Pprune really does help!!! Thank you all!!

Well, I am 1 so who are the other 5? Please, please, please let me know how you all got on, I genuinely do have my fingers crossed for you all!!

Yipee!!!!

Well, I'm off to talk to that nice chap at HSBC about firming up that loan, oh and to write my resignation

Hey y'all

I got to the final interview yesterday, and I gave them a ring this morning. And the verdict? Well I am now one of the lucky 6!!!! How do I feel, how do you think?!

Good to here you got in AC, I look forward to seeing you in March. Like you said, after all the application forms, all the aptitude tests, and all the interviews I've finally done it. Its still just one step on getting in that elusive right had seat, but what a step it is!!!

I too have to meet up with my friendly local HSBC branch, but one way or another, if I have to beg, borrow, or steal, I'll get that money. Now if you excuse me, I have to kick my heels in the air and drink copious amounts of alcohol in celebration!!!

Thumbs down

Called them this morning and I'm first reserve. I suppose it's better than a straight no, but unless you guys seriously overdo the celebrations tonight then I don't think I'll be getting a phone call!

Well done to everyone who got in!

Well done those of you who got in, I am certainly enjoying my time at FlyBe as you will. All new hires are going onto the Q400 as all of the 'classic' dash 8's will be gone by the end of the summer.

Artificial Horizon,

I'm pleased to hear that you're enjoying flybe! Now you've gone through the system so to speak could you describe your experience after finishing basic training? Did you have a choice of where to start and what has your time been like so far?

Cheers

Once the training was finished I was quite fortunate that the next Type Rating course was only a couple of weeks away. You start down in Exeter with an induction week during which you get chucked in the pool and stuck in a smokey room to find your way out.

Ground school takes around three weeks in total and then off to the simulator. We now use the simulator in Stockholm for the Q400. Initial course is 10 days long. Somewhere during these first few weeks you are asked where you would prefer to be based. At the end of the day though it is completely out of your hands, they try and accommodate as many requests as possible but the fact of the matter is that you have to take whatever is dished out.

Just as a matter of curiosity Artificial Horizon, how often do they run the type rating courses for the Q400?

WELL DONE!!

Well thats 4 of the 6, so who are the other 2? Surely they have heard of Pprune?!? LOL!

Well done to those who got through, and my genuine commiserations to those who didn't, you are all great people and I'm sure you will get there - I for one look forward to flying with you all in years to come.

You will come out of this stronger, I certainly learnt a lot after my rejection from the CTC-McAlpine scheme; all I can say is after the initial shock really pick apart the application process in your mind and think of what you can do to improve. It sounds so naff but it really is a marketing exercise and selling yourself is a big part of it! One thing for sure it makes you more determined than ever to suceed! So stick with it ...

(Sorry if that all sounds patronising and arrogant its not meant to be)

You guys who got through......congratulations!!

I was one of the final 12 but sadly not the last 6

Am obviously disappointed but enjoyed the process and meeting like minded people in the same boat!

Finger's crossed for CTC.....!

Hope training at CCAT goes well and best wishes for your time at flybe.

Cheers
