Channel express sim test coming up!

Trying to get some practice in before the assessment. Tried to book GECAT but they now won’t do ‘famil’ sessions.
Does anyone know of any 737 sim (and instructor) I could hire to get some practice in.

Also, does anyone know anything about the ChanEx sim tests?

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help.

This is from an earlier thread and appears to be a fair representation of the sim check.

"The sim was quite complex (in my humble opinion). It was in the 737 300 and consisted of take off and climb to 5000', level off and accelorate to 250 kts. Steep turns, one at 45 degrees bank and one at 60 degrees, then descend and level off. Engine failure to deal with before vectors to single eng ILS, go around to 3000', the engine is then restarted and further vectors to 2 eng ILS to land. All completed on raw data, no fligh director or automatics.

It was hard work in the sim, but very enjoyable. No knowledge is expected (except of flying of course). There's a very thorough briefing beforehand. They're just looking for your ability in general, not 737 knowledge."

The sim check is conducted by GECAT for Channex to ensure an unbiased opinion.

Good luck

Houch,

Oxford have a B737 400 sim which is used for MCC training.

I am sure they will be happy to help ,I don't know how much they charge but the instructors are very good.

I did my MCC there .

Hope it helps.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks guys, following up all these threads
The problem is finding an instructor that is available at the same time the sim. But I’ll not give up.

From my experience of a Channex sim ride.

When they sit you and the other hopefuls in the room and give you the profile just remember the flap schedules even if they say "dont worry we don't expect you to remember these". DO!!!!

You might just find that it makes all the difference.

Best of luck

Thanx Houchin

I only ask because sometimes airlines will accept applications from low houred guys but don't always say so on there requirements. This i think is the case of Brittania and others that ive heard of.

Anyone know if they will consider turboprop FOs with less than 1500 hours?? Or would such an application be refused?
