PPJN “How to get the flying job of your dreams”
Has anyone had a look at this offering from PPJN?
For those who haven't visited the site recently- they're offering a publication which purports to be a guide to getting a job. It's not too cheap (£20 ish from memory), but the list of contents make it look potentially interesting.
I think the idea is that the funds from flogging this book pay for the cost of maintaining the site.
And before anyone feels the need to get rid of some aggression here, bear in mind that at the moment whoever is running the shop is providing useful information for free.
Ciao!

Don't get this or any other such publication.
But most of all don't ever, ever go on any interview courses.
Cos after spending £35K - £60K that extra £20 for the publication or say £150 for the interview prep might just get you stood next to me at an interview, and we wouldn't want that would we??
So please don't spend the extra few quid.

I purchased the book from ppjn and I was quite dissappointed. Most of it is about how to interact with people and how to create contacts. It's all common sense really. There is a section at the end about preperation of CV's which might be interesting to some. But if that is what you are going to use it for then I suggest you use your money more wisely and join the IPA. They will give you the same info and look at your CV and suggest changes.
Best of luck

I felt a little dissapointed with it too. Most of the advice was about networking and contacts. I dont think it will help me that much but it may do to others. I thnk 20 quid was a bit steep.

I have nothing whatsoever to do with PPJN or its publications but bear in mind:
1)not everybody has common sense (unfortunately) and
2)you would be baffled at the state of some people's CV's in this industry..even those with experience
