Language proficiency

Bonjour,

I am looking for some information. I will be moving to France shortly and as I am both a pilot and english teacher I thought it may be possible to combine the two into a job. I believe that all pilots must do a language proficiency test and I was wondering how one (if at all possible) would become an examiner?

Merci

Hi,

Check this link. It s not recent but it s about English teacher in aviation.

www.pprune.org/archive/index.php/t-188572.html

You may also get some info from the DGAC which wont be easy to contact in English.

Good luck

Bonjour Birdlady,

welcome to France.

Better check with DGAC directly, but in French preferably, and you would need to speak French to be working for them.
To be a teacher ,or "repetiteur " for the controllers for instance, that is relatively easy, as you can be hired as a contractor, but to become an examiner, you need to be an employed by them , which is a civil servant post of a certain grade , and for that you need to be French national ( at least it used to be like this until a couple of years ago )

And with equal absurdity, the pilot would automatically be awarded level 6 in French, even if he used English r/t in all flight tests.
