Anyone from Evergreen on this forum fly the modified -400 ?

Curious to know what sort of Airspeed / Altitude limits have to be adhered to on this, modified -400 ?

shittykitty 30th January 2010 03:04

.92mmo- 45100ft

stilton 30th January 2010 03:21

That is the same as the regular -400. I was referring to the 'LCF' delivery Aircraft with the much enlarged fuselage.

GG747 30th January 2010 06:19

.88 mach and 43100 feet.

No APU.

james solomon 30th January 2010 10:30

Zoner 30th January 2010 13:44

External Electric & Ground Air Cart for engine starts, just like the good old days on the 707, Electra, etc. After a while you don't miss it.

Sorry without being too ignorant been retired 6 years now, antbody have a picture of this 400, flew Classic's as a F/E. My son a 2,000hr pilot has a model of a 747 Dream Lifter (same) aircraft. Has 40 + different model aircraft on shelves in his room. Where are the days of playboy pics. In my day not allowed.

Boeing 747 Large Cargo Freighter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Intruder 31st January 2010 01:55

Empty weight for the regular 744 freighter is way off. It's generally in the 157-160T range.

Zoner 31st January 2010 04:31

Currently three aircraft dedicated to Boeing work with the fourth to be delivered next month (Feb). Boeing has resisted all offers to do any other work or to sell them commercially. Lots of great pictures are on Flickr.com, just do a search for Dreamlifter.

shittykitty 7th February 2010 02:21

we yanks dont measure in tonnes, id have to get out my calculator. but most of the dreamlifters weight around 403K/bow a heavy load is 115k or so most are under 100K

sidman 8th February 2010 05:03

403.000LBS and 115.000LBS

fleigle 10th February 2010 03:51

And number 4 arrived today at KPAE, busy times at Boeing.

muduckace 11th February 2010 19:59

It's main purpose is to fly the freshly baked 787 fuscelages to the main assy plant. I believe !!!!!!!!!!!!!! has pictures of this. Really cool, look fwd just behind the entry door and you see an outflow valve and pprov's, not much pressurization demand here, probably fly's just fine on one pack.

GG747 12th February 2010 05:39

The LCF uses 3 pack's. Works great!
