I cannot see this benefiting anyone, except FedEx share holders :ugh:
European regulators need to man up! |
Have any of you looked at FedEx's Canadian operation? FedEx aircraft operated by a Canadian company. FedEx will make this happen, mark my word. No need for all this speculation.
|
When the EU becomes one country cabotage may be an issue, not before. If that happen then the Americans can pull out of NATO and allow Europe and Europeans to provide for their own defense and security. Mr. Putin is all in favor.:ok:
|
FoxHunter , the USA leaving NATO is like the UK leaving the Commonwealth. Such silly threats/comments/distractions do this discussion no service. If the USA has to threaten the defensive security of Allies in order to favour business practices , well then the " Empire " really has fallen on it`s rather rotund backside.
|
Has nothing to do with business practices. There were plenty of Americans that wanted nothing to do with Europe in 1940. There is a fast growing number returning to that opinion.
|
Without Europe you would not be American, do you remember La Fayette ?
|
European regulators need to man up! |
What is the deal at Fedex regarding operation of Fedex flights by non-FedEx carriers? |
FedEx buys TNT Express
And here we go again.....Europe or the European Union is not a country.
|
Yes, here we go again:
Schengen zone IS economically one country, just like the different States in the USA. We have EU law, superceding local one, we have EU government and EU economic area. Americans should NEVER replace European pilots in Europe. That is by the way against the local law in Belgium, which will be used to the full extend by ECA ( European Cockpit Association). |
FedEx buys TNT Express
And what about all the European staff that FedEx employs throughout the region? Still, let's just worry about the pilots eh?
|
Don't you think that FedEx managment would be more than happy to get rid of all those expensive and unproductive US pilots on the Intra-european network? :E
|
The whining speculation here is pathetic. This whole deal is about broadening a market for FedEx. If the regulators you speak of will most likely protect you and I am sure FedEx wants happy productive employee's. Like I said before look at Morningstar Air Express Inc. - Home this is most likely what will happen if I could provide a sliver of speculation based on FedEx precedent operating in a foreign country that protects the welfare of it's citizens.

FedEx buys TNT Express
TNT Airways will have to be sold off first anyway. The only thing I can see happening (possibly) is FedEx taking over the lease of the existing 777s and painting them purple with an N reg. Like the ex AF 777s, LAN Cargo 767s and in the near future the Silk Way 767s.
|
If they want the 777 then they must take the TNT 777 pilots as well and offer them permanent employment
If they want to sell the airline beforehand they will have to give the buyer a solid and long term contract to carry the freight in EU |
FedEx buys TNT Express
I don't think that will happen. I believe they could take over the lease and incorporate it into their own fleet.
|
If TNT actually owned the 777's, you might have a leg to stand on, but they don't. One day TNT is leasing them, next day returned to the owner, and day three, presto, an "N" registration with "FE" at the end.
