Ok, who bought them out?

sp48hx 5th Apr 2013 10:22

Seems the end has arrived for Avient, MD11 parked up and repossessed, DC10 grounded, no money to fix it, now it seems they have stopped taking bookings and the administrators are being called in. Hope the crews got paid, there were some good guys there.

Cumulonimbus 5th Apr 2013 11:28

Hate to 'spoil a good story' but I don't think your facts are correct. The DC-10 is flying today, bookings are up from what I hear and I've heard on the grapevine that a new MD-11 is on its way. I'm sure there are some here that will know more than I do and can probably confirm. :ok:

Rumour Ctl 7th Apr 2013 11:48

I'm hearing the same message as Sp48hx.. and understand that some staff have already been released...

sp48hx 7th Apr 2013 12:56

Lets just expand a little with even more 'rumours'
The muppets currently responsible for Avient have set up a nice little sleeper outfit in the UK under the names of AV Cargo Ltd and AV Cargo Airlines Ltd.These have been dormant for some time and have not actually traded but there has been some movement of the Directors both in and out of both Company's.
Given the current situation, calling in the administrators would seem logical having driven the present outfit out of existence but knowing you had a back up plan ready to run with. It just remains to be seen if Cb's information is part correct and another MD11 has been sourced and appears with the new name painted on the side. If this is true then you have got to ask what registration they will try this time and would they still be welcome at Liege? Mind you, after the fiasco when they absconded from Vatry overnight and left a bad taste in a lot of French mouths, they have the experience to try it again in Liege. Present and future Customers you have been warned!:=

Well there you have it, same muppets, new name, are the administrators really that daft to let the same guys under a new name continue where they left off :ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh:

Cumulonimbus 8th Apr 2013 18:09

LOL...(((uploading some paracetamol for SP4 to alleviate his headache))) It must be quite severe by now from his perpetual :ugh:. Not sure why you have an obvious vendetta here; maybe fired, let go or just refusing to 'get a life'... if you really care about the 'good guys', why would you use every opportunity to degrade their company and their livelihood? Anyway, will be sending you the photo you requested tout de suite, mon mec, assuming you can actually speak French; me thinks you are a charter guy, is that true?

Dengue_Dude 8th Apr 2013 20:46

Let's be honest cb, (and that would be a novelty), Avient were not noted for being trustworthy were they?

What they did to Vatry airport, was only the tip of the iceberg. No I'm not bitter and twisted, I left several years ago and was happy and relieved to do so - life was safer elsewhere.

Cumulonimbus 8th Apr 2013 21:17

Fair comment DD and good for you; you moved on gracefully :)

Seems that Avient picked up the ex World MD-11 N278WA

AV Cargo Airlines rises from the ashes of Zimbabwe’s Avient
Avient Aviation (Z3, Harare International (HRE)) is set to continue operations despite its sales arm, Avient Ltd, going into administration following crippling losses. According to transport publication, Loadstar, the new sales wing, to be called AV Cargo Airlines (London Gatwick (LGW)), has been “approved by its administrators, Portland Business Recovery, to operate existing commitments on behalf of Avient Ltd.” AV Cargo Airlines has already obtained funding and has secured new aircraft. The first of a possible three MD-11(F) aircraft (former N278WA, MSN 48746) is set to enter active service shortly, with a second scheduled for delivery in May. Avient, Zimbabwe’s only registered all-cargo operator, specialized in the Europe-Africa market with scheduled services offered from its hubs in Liège Bierset (LGG) and Dubai International (DXB) to Lagos Murtala Muhammad (LOS), Bamako Sénou International (BKO), Ouagadougou (OUA), Pointe Noire (PNR), Brazzaville Maya Maya (BZV), Port Harcourt Omagwa (PHC), Freetown Lungi International (FNA), Khartoum (KRT) and Entebbe/Kampala International (EBB).
