Courses will be for the 757 working for DHL Air/ACL UK!!. .Don't know how the contracts will work,because the relationship between the two company's above are unclear to me.. .I think(but what do i know??) that we will stay on a rewriten ACL contract???. .We should know more soon ,if the first courses start in April?

The ACL memo states " ACL UK will provide Crewing and other services to DHL Air in support of its B757 Fleet " . .This suggests Pilots will not become employees of DHL Air but remain with ACL UK and be contractors almost to DHL Air.

Indeed a nightmare.The solution is designed to minimise cost to DHL.While training non type rated crews on the 757 might appear to be expensive, it is a damn sight cheaper than paying huge compensation packages to ACL employees.. . Treatment of the FE's is cynical.Come on chaps, you are worth a lot more than 12K to go away,even if it is to work for someone else!!. .This is not beeing done for our benefit,the cheapest solution to a potentially explossive problem is being presented.Remember it is only a draft.All things are negotiable!!

please explain how you think you're being stabbed in the back. You're flying the A300 on a 'wide-body' salary and you'll no doubt be converting onto the 757 before the end of the year - probably on the same 'wide-body'salary - so what's the problem. I don't know who you are but there are plenty of 727 guys who've been with the company for 15, 20 years or more (including moi), and, for reasons best known to those who rule our professional lives, have not been offered the opportunity of moving to the A300. Now the 757 comes along and all crews (English presumably) will eventually be offered the 757 course - 50/50 transfer from A300/B727. Where's the problem in that???

The ink isn't dry on the document yet and already there is rivalry between different fleets. It would be better to adopt a wait and see approach. I am ever hopeful that most of the Flight Engineers will be spared in the ensuing shakeup. <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

I am with 72jetjok on this one, the management at DHL and ACL seem set on ensuring that everybody ends up with a smile on their faces and we should give them a chance to demonstrate it. Perhaps a little less wingeing at this early stage is in order.However, we can rest easy that the great gods on the Airbus will ensure their nest is feathered.

Instead of complaining about 'the great gods of the Airbus', perhaps you should ask what your fleet manager has done to try to improve things for you. In comparison to JF, I think the answer is self-explanatory.

As for the future, we are all going to be working together so the sooner this artificial in-house back-biting stops the better.

Fair comment and the answer is definitely "self-explanatory" - nothing more should or need be said on this one!

I personally welcome working together on one fleet in the fullness of time; however - and l just can't resist saying this - will the 'wide body' salary descend to meet the 'narrow body', will the opposite happen; or will nothing happen on this issue?
