The majority of the cabin crew had all worked for well known, larger airlines and can confirm that all training was as per company manuals and to standard.I believe the CAA were happy with the ATP fleet! Any company that takes on a member of Emerald crew can be assured of employing dedicated, loyal and well trained professionals, especially me!!!!!!!.......:ok:

Debbie...I mean jemgirl, As someone who works for flight support and with you and your crew, can I just point out that there have been alot of rumours flying everywhere this past few weeks and the general public can sometimes get it wrong. Have you forgotten how closely us lot and your crews have worked together over the last year or so??? Short memory?
I actually felt soo sorry for all the people working for Emerald especially the ones who are still going in everyday at the moment not knowing if they are even getting paid this month.

And as for some other peoples opinions that flight support is a shower?
Well if thats the case why are we going from strength to strength?
At least I know my jobs secure.
It is my opinion and you lot can shoot me down if you like but MOB has a hell of alot to answer for and if he could have did his job as well as his employees did he might still have a future in aviation.

Good luck to all the guys still in limbo.:ok:

RE JEMGIRL

It seems your own personality is in port of what you are saying. Being skin deep you will not understand what this means but. I really don't care about Pat Butcher of JEM.

:D

jemgirl 27th May 2006 19:10

Papa Hotel could we have your last post in english please! What has Eastenders got to do with any of this. To all at flight support i wasn't slating any of you, just relaying info passed on to me. I always got on really well with all of you and have recieved many pm's from you guys with messages of support. As you now all know who i am thanks to a certain individual, what happened to privacy? Hope to see you all soon on our final get- together............;)

Trill_Flyer 27th May 2006 19:22

Rumour has it that the last 6 pilots have joined the rest of the crews. Even MOB himself dispenced with on Friday? Can anyone confirm this. Is it just the Adminstrators in now?

Good Luck and Last One Out Turns Off the Lights...

I have been reading over this forum for the past few weeks and being in close contact with a very good friend of mine(cheers buddy?? If we are talking about the same person)who is still currently working there(dont know if this a good thing?), I must say over the past few weeks it looks and sounds like all staff at all level's have been treated in an absolutely disgusting way and it shouldn't have come to this, I personally know how hard it is for flight deck to get other positions with other airlines as you are all out really for the same jobs, as for cabin crew it sounds like alot of you have got positons sorted, even if they are temporarily for the short while(congratulations), it seems that i dont need to mention who really is to blame for the downfall of the company and AOC as it seems to have been mentioned on this site many times.
As for the staff that are still there(god only knows what for??) it sounds like it will only be a matter of time before the lights are turned off and the door is locked for the final time. After speaking to Cheers Buddy alot over this topic it seems he is not the only person down as he made alot of good friends and work collegues there during his short time. And along with the rest of his work collegues has had to put up with some s:mad:  t in the last few weeks/months from certain so called management.

All thats left to say is that i wish all staff both Crew,s and Ops along with ther families the best of luck for the future and hope you all put this down at a later stage in life as a very enjoyable experience but unfortunately cetain members of the company let you all down. Good luck again and i personnaly hope that Cheers Buddy(if your reading this) gets snapped up or offered something in aviation soon.

Trying to keep the customers?

Now Hear on the grapevine that the plan last week was to try to charter in an AN-24 to try and protect the IOM route, well been told today that Atlantic Airlines start this route Tuesday with an Electra on the back of its TNT flight.
My mistake but shouldn't most of the flights been looked at being Chartered out a few weeks ago?:hmm: then maybe some customers might of continued to stay and wait for new investors and kept some money coming in..

Do you mean an AN-26, rather than an AN-24? At least 2 AN-26s are now flying mail routes after the end of Emerald. 1 is flying EMA-IOM and one flying LPL-EDI if I'm not mistaken. Not sure if these are Emerald chartered a/c or organised by other parties for those that need the cargo.

skiddyiom 30th May 2006 10:29

Still a RAF Avia An-26 parked on "Victor" waiting to fly the freight to EMA tonight. Are they Emerald charters or someone elses? And I notice the Emerald handlers at IOM are still working. At least one part of the company looks to be surviving.

Good luck to you all. Hope this is a minor glitch in lifes rich tapestry for you chaps.

For those of us that are not members of Balpa how,s about sharing the news with others?

See theres no news yet as to who if anybody is buying yet..

EI-CGO 31st May 2006 13:59

There is no news on who is buying it yet because the 'due dilligance' is taking a lot longer than KPMG would like.

One 'snippet' of news is that it is now down to only 2 serious bids on the table, one of which may be about to walk away as the price may be just that little bit too high.

All I can say without giving anything away is that is good news for the 748crews still out of work.

Dont expect much to come out till Friday at the earliest.

I'm an outsider who just happens to have to a couple of mates who flew for Jem.

It's time some of you guys grew up; vitriolic attacks and "being right" don't pay the bills.

Maybe you should use your energy to help your co-workers rather than indulge in willy waving .

Couldn't agree more Shady, perhaps the dipsticks that are polluting the thread with bovine guano would do us all a favour and keep quiet.

OPSQUEEN 1st Jun 2006 17:47

Well said Slim and Possum. Perhaps saddo should change the name to the WRONGTROUSERS! (Nice cheese Grommit).

More importantly, and with the saddos in the background, let's hope some good news re the Airline reaches us in the next few days.

............................................................ .....................................

I am posting on this thread as I often view many threads but I never post on this site but needed to say SAD GIT get a life, get a bird of your own and stop being a jealous t*at ! it is no business of yours or anybody elses in that fact of how MOB & sk play their relationship so butt out nobody is interested in you ! and you are getting boring !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he should be getting a pat on the back and the shake of a hand for catching a catch not being slandered !
so I suggest ring a chat line, rent a dvd or use the internet to releave the tension and stop poising this thread when there are more important issues to consider pal ! and you must be sad as you sound as if you clock how much time they spend together and last I heard of MOB he was divorced and last I saw of him he was dining with his catch SK and they were both very happy!, I see my wife 7 days a week and she is driving me to the looney bin and now looks like her grandmother :_ pm me you can have her if you want !

So hope we hear no more of you sad trousers especially if they are green !!!

mrsbiggles 2nd Jun 2006 10:32

When you have finished kissing MOB's butt just remember this - his style of management (or should that be dictatorship) ruined a good company. The morale amongst the crews has been rock bottom for a long time and I think who is present squeeze is, is totally irrelevant - there are families out here wondering how to pay the mortgage! By the way, I should imagine you do not resemble Brad Pitt and your wife would probably be happy if you pushed off!!

greentrousers 2nd Jun 2006 12:32

I agree - and people should know he is taking sk for a damm right fool & surely she can see as there would be signs of commitment by now think they are just partners in work and not outside from what I see from and of him ! and I am only trying to make her aware !!! but I give up !!!

weneedpilots 2nd Jun 2006 13:41

GreenTrousers, get over it. His private life is his concern, not yours. And the same applies to the girl known as SK. Your invasion into their private life is akin to the tabloid press and Sven. :=

Really, you all need to get over it. Emerald is just the most recent in a long list, such as Gill, British World, Aer Turas etc....Airlines DO go bust, it is a very difficult industry to manage. He srewed up yes....but don't we all ?, and perhaps most of us simply wouldn't have had the skills to do his job in the first place.

If MOB was that bad, then why did you all work for him ? - because he created the opportunities for you to work, and all further your careers within aviation, that's why.

Obviously there were some good, dedicated poeple working at Emerald, and these guy's I'm sure will find new jobs, new opportunities and further themselves:D . Those that have the time to pry into someones personal life in such an invasive manner will probably not be in the above catagory of poeple. Let's hope for the sake of our industry, that those who do not contribute positively remain outside of aviation. :oh:

ILS Repeater 2nd Jun 2006 13:57

Whilst I am only a visitor to this thread, I must say I am amazed and disheartened by the crazed fantasizing of this poster (greentrousers) or any of the other names he he has used to post his infantile infatuation with other peoples romantic entanglements.

If you you are so interested, why don't you approach her yourself ? instead of posting purile tripe on a thread dedicated to the very sad demise of yet another fine freight airline (Management excluded). I used to be with Channex before we became Jet2.

My sympathies are with those people who are struggling with the realisation that their future is pretty bleak, not with some sick minded schoolboy fanatasist envious of anothers conquest. Get a life !

The very best of luck to all genuine Emerald peolpe, hope the future is brighter.

Cheers
ILS

Bad luck.

I always fancied to come back part time to do some 'real flying' again, it seems that one of the last true aviation experiences has finally come to an end! Bad luck chaps, hope it works out, easyJet are desperate at the mo.

THE LIGHTS GO OUT

Just had a call from Cheers Buddy about 1hr ago,and been told that all staff have now gone, seems to be that the Royal Mail would not pay the bill for the handling that is being done still.

The best of luck mate and also to everyone else who was still left there.

Perhaps this is coming to the end of the thread now,and before certain people start with the pathetic comments lets all leave the staff now to get on with things.(I'm sure i speak for alot of people and there families).

Good Luck to everyone. And well done for all keep going this long:D

Good old Big Ron.

He had a way of getting you to do things (reasonably happily) that will always elude MOB!

OPSQUEEN 6th Jun 2006 08:08

Oh Dear

Strange feeling this morning not donning the green uniform. Looking at the thread "Emerald and the CAA" who would have thought it would have come to this, most of us worried sick about our mortgages. I've never been out of work before under a redundancy situation. I would love someone at the CAA to tell me exactly what I've done wrong, personally, and why I am now in a situation this morning of having to sign on after a 24 year career at Liverpool.

Anyway, best of luck to all I have worked with, I will certainly miss everyone and it is going to be very strange now not rushing round all day like a loonie. I've loved working at Emerald.

Anne:sad:

P.S. If anyone out there wants an Operations Secretary or an Office Services Manager, pm me please otherwise it's beans on toast for the rest of the week!

cruiseczechs 6th Jun 2006 08:30

Hello Opsqueen

Opsqueen, I'm very sorry to hear your job has gone as well, I lost mine about 3 weeks ago.
As you were there until the last, and like the rest of us I assume you are no longer an employee, can you spill the beans on what was happening with the sale. Are KPMG still there, what's happening to all those aircraft are there still interested buyers and who are they.

regards cruisczechs

Trill_Flyer 6th Jun 2006 09:08

Lights Are OUT?

Hi opsqueen

Very sorry state of affairs. Hope you find yourself a job to very soon.

Is it just the administrators there now? No Emerald staff at all whatever their post?

Did they find the key to Opps. Can't say I've known upstairs ever locked up, even Xmas day!

Regards to ALL Emerald Pilots, Engineers, Opps Staff and the admin staff who got on with the job in hand, regardless. What a team. Glad to have been there and to experience it all.:D
