Come to think of it, was that not the thrust of my thread? It was a simple-enough question begging for useful information on the subject of AHK establishing, or having in fact already established a base in Singapore. Not surprisingly however, fundamental eggheads with a surplus of idle time surface every now and then, dishing out pointless, uncalled for, cowardly and stupid remarks. Although Humpty and Dumpty remain an overwhelming minority, they still manage to leave their excreta where it is not appreciated.
So, is AHK already in or going to be in Singapore?

Hi 'Half-Full',
Way back in the early days of AHK, '95 or '96, even before they were aquired by Cathay, they were talking of going into China with a small fleet of freighter A310s.
Then, when 'we' took delivery of the three ex Varig, 'refurbished' -200s, (except for the engines!), and the China affair just seemed to fade away!
As did the route to Melbourne, since Cathay Cargo already did that route.
Cheers.

AHK (Air Hong Kong) is currently purchasing 6 x A300-600s for use on CX Cargo and a DHL contract from a new DHL hangar in HK.
Cannot comment on other bases but would suggest that if you live in Asia and have DHL services you will see AHK on you doorstep early next year.
