Smile Last Channel Express L188 Flight

For all you spotters out there, time to dig yer camera out and get down to Bournemouth on Friday 2nd of May @ 08.00z to see the flypast of Channels' last L188. Time to paint that carnation out and put a maple leaf in its place, before those growling Allisons fire up for one more time Wednesday week.

Cool

I would have thought it might head North - either to join Atlantic's fleet or to be used by 'em for spares.

no way mate!, it's going over the pond to "chop down trees and hang around in bars". Remember this version has a f/e s seat so Atlantic wouldn't want it

Angel

Anyway it needs a few more hard landings & a lot more corrosion before going Atlantic , got to keep the fleet standardised don't yah know ! .
PS. On a more serious note good luck to all the crew who have
been made redundant.

I flew the Electra with A N Other company for a couple of years and it was full of excitement. On my first line flight we had an engine fire warning. The engineer had his wife with him so we all looked like heroes when we got it on the ground.

The last time we shut a donk down, between the three of us we had shut down 30(yes,THIRTY) engines for various reasons in the past eighteen months.

Thankfully,it has been my last engine shutdown so far.
