L188's (Electra's)

I am wondering whom may still be flying these really neat aircraft? I know that Zantop and TMC Airlines in the US but whom else abroad? One of my favorite aircraft and would love to know how many are still active. Real shame about Reeve Aleutian as they were the last to fly pax in these aircraft. Thanks.

Channel Express still have 1 Electra based out of CWL (Cardiff) at present but this is due to retire soon. Air Atlantique have about 6-8 aircraft, some of which have been converted to operate as 2 crew cockpits. That's the extent of my knowledge but perhaps FreightDoggyDog can throw more light on the subject

Amerer Air in Austria had one last year but I don't know if this is still flying.

I believe Atlantic Airlines have 9 airframes (8 in use and one in the hangar awaiting refit). Some do have two crew cockpit and at least two of their fleet can go transatlantic but I'm not sure if these are the same aircraft?

ELECTRAS

Those Reeve Aleutian went to Atlantic recently in CVT for further conversion to freighters.

The 2xAmerer aircraft fly for TNT Airways LGG-VIE/LGG-BUD etc.
They also still have 1xF27 !!

Atlantic Airlines at CVT now operate the largest Electra fleet in the world. The company has 8 aircraft on the British register. There are also 2 ex Reeve Aleutian and 3 ex Fred Olsen Electra's at Coventry waiting to return to service or being used for spares. I believe all the Electra's on the British register are now two crew.

Thumbs up

Ah nostalgia, nicest aircraft I have ever flown.

4 glorious years of freight flying in L188's.
