World Airways closes shop..

Heard WOA closed it's doors today from a current employee. That would be the end of a 66 year old legacy.

World Airways Shuts Its Doors

There were only so many times that the Wall Street crooks could suck us dry. It's not the first time that a great airline was used to line the pockets of the Johnny-Come-Lately's. Unfortunately, it won't be the last.

Very sorry to hear this very sad news. I was their Station Manager in Paris from 1971 thru 1979. Enjoyed working with the outfit. I wonder what Ed. Daly must be thinking if he can see this.

Ed Daily would be kicking so butt if he could see this once great airline down and out because of a bunch of low life finance guys.

It's a sad day. I spent 38 years flying for World and retired 3 years ago. I wish the best to all of World's employees who have lost their jobs.

Once Cerberus, LLP got involved, it was only a matter of time. Vulture capital at its worst. The name gives it away; it was the three headed dog that guarded Hades.

My (worthless) condolences to those affected.

WOA

Amazing memories. Amazing experience. Daly was gone before my time with WORLD, none the less his spirit was there then. Hearing this loss was like losing an old friend.
