Part 135?

I am starting up a small freight (transporting dogs) company and was told by my insurance broker that I didn't need a part 135, I could just be "freight for hire"? I have no idea what he is taking about. I don't plan on making a fortune doing this, just to work part time and enjoy some flying. However, it seems Part 135 is a hassle to obtain and that the insurance for a Part 135 is a bit expensive. Does anyone have any idea if I need Part 135 to fly dogs around for pay?
Thanks,
Dan

You should see if your broker will underwrite violation insurance for you.

In FAR Part 1.1 look up Commercial Operator then go to 119.1(a)(1).
