I received a PM saying 'we know exactly who you are' amongst other stuff - not overly friendly, I would add.

Just for the record and since I don't need anonimity I'll tell anyone interested that I'm Brian May, FE and late of Avient.

There you go CB, now everybody knows . . . are you able to do the same?

commiserations

Hi DD

Your sentiment is well understood. You do know that AS has nothing what so ever to do with AV Cargo? I hope we all realise that, and that this is a new start for a really good team. All cargo airlines are tight at the moment and boy oh boy if Cargolux is fighting with Qatar over northbound flights out of East Africa well as they say: the pond shrinks and the crocs get snappy. We know that and just a little support for the independants creates interesting, varied jobs for those that live for it. I really hope that AV can do it (despite the baggage and labels that perpetuate here).

Any body reading, please ask yourself if it was the personality that you are animated about. Or the the ops, crews, receptionists, accounts, and support team. AV dose NOT include AS.

All positives - onward and upward

Double story

Yes I was aware.

I rarely instigate threads, but I DO respond when and where I feel I have some informed comment to make.

I do not have an axe to grind with AV Cargo per se, AS accused me of some stuff (damage to aircraft equipment) which I could not have perpetrated. As a professional for over 40 years, I found that accusation utterly outrageous. It was with a sense of utter relief when we parted company.

I also object to thinly veiled threats which appear to imply my anonymity was somehow being used as a shield. That resulted in my declaration, I couldn't give a stuff who knows (or is in the slightest interested) in my identity. The reason I hang on to Dengue Dude harps back to my time with Biman.

Call it intuition but I suspect you know who sent the PM. I hope it isn't repeated.

That said, best of luck to the workers, crews and mechanics - they all work hard and have my best wishes.

Who owns the AOC that AV Cargo use in Zimbabwe? Could it be the same AS?

... AV Cargo does not include AS...

AV Cargo's shareholders are listed as Andrew Smith (40%) Sam Smith (20%) and Lewis Kling (40%).

AV Cargo Airlines Ltd does not involve the individuals you specifically quote, neither as directors, shareholders and not even hidden behind any nominees. That is absolute fact! They have no connection with the company whatsoever.

You are correct that other publications on the internet may quote differently, also through ignorance of the facts, but such statements repeated will not absolve any that can be shown to be deliberately perpetuating false information.

Everyone one should be aware of their own responsibilities and liabilities and allow those, less diligent or intelligent, to fall on their own swords accordingly.

Seems obvious intelligence and prudence to me, especially in the light of other actions currently going on, but maybe I'm mistaken!

Another thread pulled?

I guess from CB's comments he will be asking his friends the moderator to pull this thread soon.

This thread has opened my eyes to the influences which have threads removed. I have no axe to grind, and respect that people should not say bad or untruthful things on social media, but it seem like even a hint of a legal challenge or disagreement gets threads lifted.

A sad day if all parties cannot respectfully exchange views on a forum like this.

Cumulonimbus.....

"Suspect it was more to do with potential litigation"

Here are some facts for you.... You little fact checker..

1.Lawyers require cash... A commodity AV cargo is seriously lacking..
2.The DC10 parked... Crews let go... Not paid...
3. First MD11 abandoned in Zurich...basically scrap.. Most of the crews let go...not paid.
4. Second MD11 flying.. COD everywhere it goes... Some crews paid...

I wish them the best... But it's not looking good. I'm just glad I got out alive.

Wasn't the first Avient MD11 written-off at Shanghai? It's the second MD11 that is at Zurich awaiting its fate.

Yep, it was. Enroute to Bishkek if memory serves.

I've been looking out for the accident report, but haven't seen it yet - anyone else seen it?

While this thread is still up and before CB starts asking for it to be pulled, would he care to answer ajwajw's question, Who's AOC are AV Cargo operating under?

AV Cargo operate under the Zimbawean AOC of Avient (Flt Nbr SMJ). Avient Ltd, the UK company and not the AOC holder, went into Administration and Avient Zimbabwe was unaffected. Good luck to the new team at AV Cargo as they seem a pretty decent bunch and without the Smiths being involved people might actually like them. The main problem I have is that with Avient Ltd going into Adminstration, a lot of people lost their jobs and lot of creditors such as the Lessors and the fuel companies will lose a lot of money. AV Cargo starts up the very next day using different Lessors (Boeing Capital iso Pegasus) and all these other people and entities are left to lick their wounds and surely that can't be right ?
