Freight Dogs Finally a forum for those midnight prowler types who utilise the unglamorous parts of airports that many of us never get to see. Freight Dogs is for pilots and crew who operate mostly without SLF.

Possibly a stupid question

Depends on the airline, so do not believe those who say it is not possible due to US and UK Paranoia

In my airline, I can take whoever I want on the jumpseat, no questions asked.

I hitched a ride on a cargo 732 about five years ago, sat in a row of seats just behind the cockpit b/head., was fed standard crew pre packed munch, smoked to my hearts content...

It helped that I'd paid the charter, and it was in a "developing" country.

And I assisted in topping up the engines with crazy amounts of oil on landing... at 0 God Hundred Hours...

I do remember, they bought B727's with windows in the late 90's. The aircraft were specially fitted for a quick change. As opposed to a CF, I believe the seats rolled in on pallets locking and connecting electrically. They actually operated for several years.
All 727s came with pax windows except the very last batch sold to FedEx. Most freighter conversions have them plugged and painted over. Boeing built QCs, Braniff ran some in the late 1960s and early 70s. Fly pax in the day, in the evening yank the interior out and load up and fly cargo at night. Sunrise found them having the pax interior reinstalled. Having never seen a Seven Two with PDUs I doubt they rolled in and locked electrically.
