A long, long, long time. Most likely too long to wait even if you were in your early twenties. BA pilots have a contracted right to take LWOP and assume GSS commands...
Joining GSS these days is a good way to get some great experience flying the 74 around the world with some really good people...but a career (ie command) it is not..
