Scheduled Cargo Airline

I just wonder how these airlines make money. Do they always get full load to carry so their expected revenues for that sector is secured? I'd welcome all advices on the freighter operations.

Cargolux comes to mind. They must have been around for 30+ years, and they seem to have made enough money to become the launch customer of the new B747-800 freighter. . . .

CV has around 70 percent 'loadfactor' with an average utilization of close to 16 hours a day per plane. That math gives you a nice operational netprofit, shame about the other s....
