National Air Cargo (NAC)/Transafrik prank a Herc in Sharana Afghanistan ??

Hearing that National Air Cargo pranked a Hercules in Sharana Afghanistan yesterday with major damage to the airfield, no news on crew at this time. Hoping that they are all okay.
Airfield is a challenge with a 2.5% slope, so needs special clearances from Lockheed, for operations of commercial hercs. I believe that the aircraft is operated by Transafrik under wetlease to NAC
Anyone got more info ??

Transafrik.....hmmm, now there is a company with a colourful and questionable set of credentials to its name. Their technical consultations and operational approvals with Lockheed may be at a limited level....

This extract from Wikipedia:

In 2006 Transafrik International was approached by the UN, which is its main contractor in Africa, to re-register the fleet to another nation for aviation safety reasons. Initial approaches were conducted to re-register the fleet from Sao Tome e Principe (S9) to Uganda (5X). However until 2008 all airplanes are still registered in Sao Tome e Principe.

The airline is privately owned, while the management or location of the Headquarters are not clear or transparent. Legally the company is registered in Guernsey, Channel Islands of England, while there is operational offices in Entebbe, Uganda, Luanda, Angola and an administration unit in Kempton Park, South Africa.
Of note, 'S9' registered aircraft are banned from the UAE airspace, one of a few banned from those salubrious locations!

Have flown around with them in Africa and the boys were a good bunch and had certainly done the rounds with some fairly special stories to tell!

All that aside, hope the fellah's are ok

National Air Cargo Hercules crashes short of runway in Sharana Afghanistan

Received pictures of the National Air Cargo/Transafrik Hercules S9-BAT that crashed short of runway in Sharana Afghanistan on flight.
Crew got out without injuries

The runway in Sharana has 2.5% slope which is outside the permitable limits for most civilian aircraft so will be interesting what Lockheed and control authorities in Afghanistan have to say about this operation.

Comment from source of the pictures
Gaff is they landed 15ft short....high winds were blowing. My guess is they were also most likely overweight to add to the mix. I hear from airfield management, they going to push her into the ditch on the side of the runway.....sad day. Ray says this was the highest time Herc in operation
