Haven't heard anything about this company for a long time. Does anyone have an update on their operations?

As said above, believe bought out by BenAir A/S and the sheds and their crews still operate out of either / both Inverness and RAF Kinloss as BenAir crew.

BenAir's ex HD Air sheds now competes with Loganair S340 Freighters. I think that BenAir also operates B1900s and Let410s from Inverness.

Also chasing freight is Highland Airways with their JS31s, again, Inverness based. It can be quite busy up here between about 0400 and 0600!!!

Pity:I would dearly love to have left the RAF to work for them!

I will never forget the fact that a BAC Express (became HD Air?) Training Captain took the trouble to write an entire A4 page of advice to me re TP FOs following an unsolicited CV application by me.

I am following his advice albeit I cannot afford to leave the RAF until age 55 now, but he seemed to hold out hope for a career change self-improver at even that age!!! Now I am 48.

Good luck.

PS If you ever get a job flying freight up here, please PM me - I could really do with a career change now!!!

Well, Benair certainly aquired the HD Shorts to add to their own, but were operating one Shorts 360 route already from Inverness to Edinburgh, returning to Kinloss after Inverness closes for the night. The HD Air Shorts 360 route to the Western Isles is now operated by Loganair currently using a wet lease aircraft. Some of the HD Air pilots now work for Highland Airways, none came to Benair in the end when it turned out Logan would be taking over the route, there wasn't the need for extra Shorts pilots. Benair does not operate a B1900 from Inverness, there are just two Skynet Royal Mail routes for them, one using a Let 410, the other the above mentioned. Benair's only other Skynet route is from Aberdeen, again using a Let 410.

HD Air were not bought by Benair, but by Benairs parent company Jutlandia and are being run as an entirely separate company.
The Coventry Hangar has been shut down and the company has been relocated to the Birmingham Cargo center.
Benair have not taken the aircraft, they are the 145 provider so have the aircraft to perform the checks.

Are HD still operating as HD or have they been absorbed into the parent company? Where are the Shorts operating out of in terms of bases for crew?

The only base, at the moment, is Birmingham.
