BAWC moving to Manston?

I saw on other web sites that BAWC is moving its operations to Manston. Does anyone know when this will happen? Apologies if this has been posted before.

This has not yet been confirmed, it should be decided in the next two weeks.

Manston Runway

I hope BAWC have considered the runway ? 2752 meters could be an issue with a B747F-400 ? No problem when they go via FRA / HHN but could be an issue for a long reach.

It is the GSS Stansted operation that could relocate to Manston. Local council has agreed to amend airfield opeing hours, just waiting to see if the dotted line gets signed in the next fortnight.

I am sure the BA-seconded chaps will welcome this move. Getting to Stansted is one thing but getting to El Adem with grass is another!

Google 'airline opts out of manston move' from Kent News

I'm in Chemistry on my iPhone and can't copy and paste.

Back to paying attention.

Stansted retained as freighter base (12/03/2009)

Following a tender process, British Airways World Cargo has chosen to continue operating its longhaul freighter programme from London Stansted.

During the evaluation procedure BA World Cargo investigated a number of options, including a possible relocation to Kent International Airport.

Jude Winstanley, head of network and freighters, commented: "After careful evaluation and taking into account a number of factors including the need to provide the best product for our customers, cost effectiveness, service quality and speed of connection, Stansted remains the most attractive longhaul freighter base for BA World Cargo and our customers."

Believe it or not, agencies put up these kinds of ads for interesting jobs (Loadmaster / Firefighter / Beer Tester / Playboy Oil Boy) knowing full well that ridiculous amounts of people will apply. This in turn increases the number of people they have on record and enables them to pour out vacancies for forklift drivers, fire alarm installers, barstaff and avon ladies to all the poor sods who applied to the interesting job in the first place....

....would be interesting to know if it was genuine or not. I wouldn't think it's VDA/Airbridge, doesn't seem like their style from my experience.

Good luck with your job hunting.

Oh dear TL...

Did I say I was looking for another job ?

I am currently sat in the Dubai Marina Yacht Club and having a nice cold bottle of Cristal with a stunning woman !!!

You see I'm enjoying life far too much... and to be honest why would I...If you are honest to yourself, you know its a dying trade, cheapend by accountants and dispatchers...most top loadies I know are looking for an out

So If you read my post s l o w l y.... I said are Wickes looking for another loadie via AJS. I ask because one has moved down the road to VD and then this agency place an ad.?

When an ex loadie mate of mine phoned the agency... the consultant, beer boy, fire alarm tester, when pressured said it was Wickes...Not their style I admit, as they normally go by word of mouth and get as cheap as possible.

So to put the record straight I am happy to say I wont be applying to Wickes or VD..no need now or in the future..been there, enjoyed it, moved on and now have a normal life.

Ps Good Hunting TL !
