The last time on flew on this beast was late 1999. MST-CAI-OVB, overnight stop then OVB-KIX, 12hr stay, KIX-OVB, overnight stay, then OVB-IST.

Whilst noisey inside, once you get used to the noise it's actually not that bad and on par with the AN124.

If you get the chance to have a look onboard, you won't be dissappointed

AN-22 flying?

hi all,
heard a distinctive sound today (crossing north-south around noon - ZRH area) and was wondering if the AN-22 was going over. Does anybody know if the old lady is "alive and flying"?
thanks
Olav

Last I heard it is still in maintenance and may never return unless an economically viable agreement can be made for new props.
