Question New cargo outfit out of Botswana ?

A crowd going under the name Botswana International Air Cargo are spreading the word that they have bought well known DC-8 operator African International Airlines. Both their -63's are on the ground at JNB awaiting heavy overhaul and or C-Checks.

From their publicity shot it seems there is almost no DC-8 in Africa that they dont own or otherwise control.

Names being mentioned are Nigel Crompton, David Eastaugh, and a certain one Captain Kambarage KO Kaunda.

Plan is to use Gaberone, Botswana as their cargo hub but fly regionaly and international.

This is quite a mouthful, leading one to believe that perhaps these guys dont know what they are about or wanting to let themselves in for.

Anybody with more info, please share.

"Our company ‘BIA Cargo’ has recently acquired an air cargo operation namely African International Airlines’. We would like the opportunity to open discussions with potential clients with a view to offering our services on intercontinental and indeed African regional routes.

We are currently operating six DC-8’s in the fleet operating with various airlines i.e. Silverback, Guy Eaton (UK)and Kiki La Mer (DRC) there are also two at Heavylift In Dubai. We will also have 2 x B727s including a VIP a/c based at Lanseria, a former Nigerian presidential Super 27, which is configured for 28 pax.

Our group is also in discussions with ‘Dodson Aviation – S.A.’ to set up a JV operations with them to operate B727-100 F and the DC3TP Dakotas. This would give us a fleet of turbine aircraft for the tougher regions like Southern Sudan, DRC, Angola and even Somaliland if required.

We have set all this up in the space of the past few months including the newco for Botswana at Gaberone – ‘Botswana International Airways (Pty)’ which will be our hub for most of our SADC operations.

Our local HQ in Johannesburg is at the old Nationwide Hangar - AirQuarius and our ground operations at Jet Park, with the heavy maintenance hangar on the Denel side at ARH.

Please feel free to visit our web-sites www.biacargo.co.za and www.aiaflycargo.com."

Kiki La Mer (DRC)

Hi,

The so-called company 'Kiki La Mer' does remind me of a certain Kiki Lemaire (almost same pronunciation), a South-African with a murky past. Consult paragraphs 20 and 26 of the UN Angola report (REPORT OF THE PANEL OF EXPERTS ON VIOLATIONS OF SECURITY COUNCIL SANCTIONS AGAINST UNITA). This might cast some light on your enquiry. Kiki La Mer, (presumably) alias Kiki Lemaire , would perfectly suit in the row of obscure companies mentioned by the Botswana Pty.
Regards

Thats the same person snarfel, just think they dont know how to spell his name.

The "negotiations" with Dodson Aviationfor the "JV" using Dodson's B727-100F and DC-3's is equally interesting, the B727's a wreck, and DC-3's because of their nature and application possibilities cannot compete on a commercial basis.

But Bob Dodson is also renowned for having provided the Equatorial Guinea coup plotters their B727 which was impounded in Harare.

The experience and some titles they claim are a mystery and cannot be verified, however they are the mysterious buyers of AIA that all have been speculating about for so long but the money to buy AIA must apparently still be produced.

This all appears a pipe dream and intention of post is to bring to all's attention to take care and caution if they plan to get involved.

As an ex employee of Alan Stocks it's just so sad
to see it all come to an end in such a sad way.
Best wishes for the future to all that depended
on the Company for a living.

Humbe advice to Mr Stocks - these guys walking around claiming the two planes and all AIA's crews are theirs!

All service providers at airports and facilities mentioned are claiming their money of which none is forthcoming.

Business plan is fundementaly flawed.

Mr Stocks, and all crew being strung along, - be very careful!

These guy's have no AOC, no base - going to even further screw up the African market and dissapear into the mist again, just like they came. Dont know how such people are allowed to run around professing such irresponsible claims.

Interesting to note that two of the carriers mentioned have been banned by the EU for unsafe operations. This with their already shady reputation should have the forwarders running to use them

Dont know if the one guy and "The Governor" is the same person but could possibly be because there is an awful lot of nonsense and BS. If not then this is The Governor II.

Could not perform the "launch flight" because one of their "many" "leased" planes (which are not) was not ready to fly, but these two hopeful desperado's committed themselves to a flight date with destination delivery deadline, - and took the South African clients money.

Client has claimed his money back, and not withstanding that these two ducks could not fly and meet the delivery deadline, and still cant, they have the gall to argue that since the client cancelled the flight, he will receive no refund.

They are about to learn a very expensive "Lesson No. 1" in "Air Cargo Charter Flying for Beginners and Bullsheisters".

These ducks are dead in the water before they can even fly.

Hope and pray that Mr Stocks cancells the sale of AIA and retains their deposit (if the cheque didnt bounce), on the same basis.

If any from SA CAA is reading, please take note and pay special attention to these two fraudsters cause your paths will cross or may have already.

Not much unfortunately, yes the two machines are parked up and unfortunately not inside the hangar

Dont know how long this AMO's approval is going to last, as they cant even seem to get their act together to get SB's machine out.

Early Dec an ex-Cygnus -63(?) went into the hangar to start CP-CP's. Corrosion on machine in shocking state.
