FedEx Haulers - No FMC?

I've been noticing in FedEx 727 pits that you fellas seem to be getting along without a flight computer and I'm curious.. you boys still navigating VOR to VOR? I would have thought for sure that FedEx would've installed FMC's by now.

The 727's are on their way out being replaced by the 757. Upgrading the aircraft is a waste of money. They do have a GPS.

Thanks for the reply, trash. Where's the GPS unit located? Is it bound to the NAV system in the FedEx 72's? Or is it a standalone reference unit?

Coupled to the Flight director and on the fwd instrument panel as far as I can tell. I am not on the 727.

Hello everyone, just a few of our 727s have the GPS on them. I only get one of these every few months. The majority of our 727s just have VORs. Every night A.T.C. will clear me direct to some intersection and I have to say," I'm sorry, I can't go direct. Can you give me a heading?"

Hope that clears this up.
