Atlas UK crews

Have you heard UK/European classic crews are being fired and replaced by Americans at Stansted!

Sounds like events have come full circle from when Atlas U.S. guys were being fired to hire UK/European replacement pilots. Done to create leverage against the newly formed Atlas union in the U.S.

Close, but not really. The Atlas Classic fleet is being reduced while the -400 fleet is growing. So the last bid sends some Classic pilots are on their way to the -400, but unfortunately the PFEs have taken a direct hit. All by straight date of hire some Atlas mainline and all AABO Engineers have lost their seats. Some relatively senior mainline Engineers have been displaced from their U.S. bases to STN (which is junior in the overall scheme of things).

No great plot, just a shrinking Classic fleet. And a sad thing all around. For all the noise, in the real world the vast majority of us get along just fine and are sad to see some exceptional people being put on the street and others displaced.

Guess you were not one of the one's furloughed at the gain of those at AABO back in the day. A number of those Atlas furloughed might disagree with you.
