STAR AIR

STAR AIR A/S is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MAERSK AIR A/S.

The global American parcel distribution company, United Parcel Service (UPS), entered a long-term agreement with STAR AIR a few years ago. According to this agreement, STAR AIR operates intra-Europan cargo services for UPS for that company´s European distribution centre in Cologne. The agreement also involves STAR AIR leasing the necessary cargo aircraft of the type Boeing 727-100 Quiet Freighter from UPS, and then operating these on the Danish aircraft register and according to Danish regulations, but in UPS livery.

In 1999, STAR AIR operated the following services from the distribution centre in Cologne:

Athens

Cork

Dublin

East Midlands

Leeds

Lisbon

Lyon

Nürenberg

Oporto

Paris

Torino

Toulouse

Also in 1999, all flights, which are mainly night flights, were operated with high precision and 99.6% of all departures were on time.

At year-end, the fleet consisted of seven Boeing 727-100 Quiet Freighter aircraft. Number of staff in 1999 was 79 on average.

MMMh,

Nürnberg/Vienna was operated with N-registered aircraft and U.S. crews (dunno if still in 1999 though).

Cheers
