Question CityBrid to dump both A300-600F

Just read in FLight that Qatar is going to get the two (apparently) former CityBird A300s. Any insight anyone?

No big surprises. Think CTB are just about bankrupt.

Indeed, the cargo business is slow----
TradeWinds (USA) has 4 A300B4's parked (out of seven) and the major investor wants out, big time.

Yup. Seems the aircraft are owned by Debis Air Finance and they want ed the money or would take the airplanes out. Apparently CTB did not only have problems with the MD11s but also with the two A300s.

AF is supposedly the last customer they had for the airplanes, but they decided to get a Gemini MD11. At least one was reported to be in CDG for AF.

I guess CTB is dead in a couple of months. The 2nd airline failure for Georges Gutelman and the first for Vico Hasson...

Believe the two MD11s were leased from Boeing to CTB, from CTB to Sabena. As I understand it, SN pulled out of the deal early & will have to pay compensation to CTB. CTB has to pay compensation in turn to Boeing! Complicated?
