Post Freighters

Well, I opened my gob, so I'll start. This forum was last used on 24Apr01. Obviously general lack of interest.
Might get shot down in flames for this (no BA FD/CC scandal stories to tell). What the heck. Let's talk cargo/ cargo aeroplanes/lifestyles/rules & regs/questions. Freighter to freighter people! Never worked in a pax environment myself (12yrs L/M 74F); I find our website a bit pax biased.

Lets give it a go.

Edited for politeness!

Hello, small freighter here. Based in the USA, Texas, just a couple short months from finishing my first year in freight ops and loving almost every minute of it!

Hi Wheelchock; TLB is parked in front of the VIP building on P3. Don't know what the heck it's doing there - you can imagine how it looks when all the EU ministers jet in for a conflab! The -10 is still parked on P5 - hasn't moved.
Strange that nobody has bought it! Any info on that score?

Wecome Mert: I'm in central Europe, ELLX to be exact. Love that little obnoxious boxes ditty! Have to remeber that one!

Question

Rat,
Don't know what the deal is with Fat Albert.I'm surprised it hasn't moved yet, but then again not, since the Lux authorities pulled the registration of it, and the airworthy cert of that one plus the 3 8's.
Do you of any jobs for an unemployed freight dog?

I arrived here!!

Good Idea Rat, Lets get them to change the title to 'Freight Dogs'

Wheelchock let me know who you are? If I find anything worth knowing in the job line, I will let you know.

I myself think I may have found gainful employment, I do hope so!! and for a change living here in Ireland might not go against me.

Long Live the Freight Dogs!!

Kevin

Hey wheelchock ,
don't know ezackly what you do ?. Working on the basis that your front end, channel seem to need F27 crew most of the time (lot of f/o's go for hrs building). They are after 737 people(see adverts on this site),still recruiting for A300 i think !.I think Heavylift are getting some more A300's & everyone in the industry sent in a CV to DHL for jobs at EMA.
Anyway goodluck mate
I'll drop back in if i hear any good gen.

Fill your boots guys - enjoy the place.

Admin overheads running 69 forums prevent us bringing any of the 17, Yes, 17, forums presently on request.

If this place takes off as you hope it will we'll do a little renaming.

Thanks Mr Towers!
I realise it must be one heck of a job running a site like this. Drop me a line if you need a hand with this one.
I'm going to post a quick note on R&N to direct interested people over here.

Up to us now folks. We've (I've) been nagging for ages now; let's make it a success.

You're welcome CR2. If you run back the days you'll find that this is still the European forum but we've just renamed it and popped it elsewhere on the list of forums to maintain the logic for navigating the site.

Thanks for the offer of help - we might be back to you on that. Like I said earlier, fill your boots and enjoy the place. It's up to you guys to make a success of it.

Don't forget to pass on your thanks to the Rat and Hogg - we admire persistent sods. Reminds us of our start on the internet.

Regards to all freight dogs from the Towers

Rat,
You should make a list with the top 10 freight operators.Would be interesting to see how many true freight dog operators we have now a days.

Believe Fedex & UPS occupy the #1 & 2 spots. I think Lufthansa Cargo is next. BA is somewhere in the top ten. I think my crowd (CLX) is somewhere in the 10th to 15th range.
Should be a listing in the next ATW mag.
