You're looking on the wrong forum. Most people who work for MK don't contribute here. There're some very negitave views out there but most of the people who're bashing them have no dealings with them so wouldn't pay them much attention... they're now overseen by the UKCAA, their crews have or should have shortly JAA licence's so they can't be as bad as people make out. think they're supposed to be sorting out their crew/op's department as haven't heard much positive about those depatments?

I think too many people remember the past, and unfortunate things that happened.. Ive only been at MK since June, since then we gained G-MKAA, and as above many JAA licensed crews.... Flying on average 450 hours a week with 7 B747-200 and a DC8 operating out of LUN/NLA sort of area... Hitting the magic 500 mark every so often, but have quite a few tech issues here and there with engines (Short sector problem really).
As for jobs, people can apply at www.mkairlines.com theres an online application form im led to believe, we've just had a batch of new loadies so i couldnt say if the boss is still recruiting, but theres no harm in trying?
Ill keep trying to find out about rsaters/pay, but its not exactly easy speaking to the guys about that sort of thing, haha.. I know from crewing that the guys tend to do a maximum of 20-25 days on duty with a rest day here and there (as by UKCAA ruling) and then time at home obviously depends on personal circumstances etc etc

As above, we have the one DC-8 (9G-MKK) that operates usually NLA/LUN/EBB sort of area's.. As for 744, ive no idea, we only have the single DC-8 and 747-200's.. Im from a very military background, so not too wise on the other 74's and compatibility etc etc..
To all that PM'd me, hopefully the info above can help, as for pay, ive never really asked, but im sure its not the worst paid job around...

Mbote - I hope that your interview went okay? I have a few friends in the company, and while there are things wrong, can you show me a company where they aren't?
Ingwe - interesting points, and from what I hear they're valid too!
F'Wx - Someone who's going to an interview with a new company, and asks questions about "still" operating dc-8's, and "what about 744's" appears to be viewing your newly-joined company as a stepping stone.

All the best with your PPL, Formally Known As. At least you dont have to worry about applying to MK just yet, but Im sure that when and if you do ever get a CPL, you will send MK an application. I wouldnt start slagging them off at this early stage.

Mbote, you are one lucky dude to even get an interview I hope you get the job. MK would be a top job to score. I have been trying for years and years form the time I had a few hundred hours till now ~3500 hours and havent even had a sniff. Good luck and dont let anybody put you off this job I am sure you will love it if your lucky enough to get it.

The interview is very personal, the guys work close together so dont want problems on track. Know your current aircraft you are flying, they will ask you on that. You will have a sim test, certainly not easy, but the guys are helpful and try and steer you in right direction, improvement is the key.
Be honest and cheerful,
Good luck

Pay is CRAP, 'Rosters' non existant, Crews very good...
Best fun EVER!!
I consider myself lucky to be sat where I am. Could be a whole lot better from the family front but out on line the crews are very competent and the experience levels are still very high.
