QANTAS freighters

Can anyone confirm that AAES will be carrying out C check of the 4th 737-300, starting mid January, prior to the freighter conversion?

Many ex Avalon staff from the previous conversions have been sourced for AAES. Why is this so? Are AAES cheaper than China for freighter conversions?

I believe that AAES aka "NEWCO" will be an MRO owned by John Holland and QANTAS to do:
QANTAS/VIRGIN/JETSTAR/ANZ and anyone else looking for the cheapest maintenance.

Is it the Check or the Conversion that is being done there???
As for the cost, the ferry costs must surely come into calculations.

Ferry costs are "peanuts" when maintnance/conversion costs come into the equasion. Some maintenance checks run into the millions.

I hear that due to the 20 year old 737s not performing anywhere near the same as the 20 year old 727s, Q will be converting their 15 year old 767s into freighters as well. On selling them to AAE ( owned by Aust Poat and Qantas) , man I love these accountants.

I sent the original thread to DG as you suggested

Thanks
