New freight operator in Coventry?

Is it true that a new cargo operator will start operating soon with F27s out of Coventry?

Unlikely I would have thought, particularly if it was a UK AOC which would be very very difficult to do.

Dont think BAC or ACL still have it on their AOC so it would have to be a fresh piece of paper.

Now ATR operator, that a different story............

Fokker F27 Operations at EGBE

With Atlantic Airline having the MNG cargo friendships on lease at the moment this might be were this has been picked up from.

I nightstopped a couple weeks ago at the pub at the end of the runways and there was a nimber of friendsip mivement during the night.

I understand the Friendships are just for an interim period until more ATPs come on line.

Atlantic Airlines is using a Magic Bird Cargo ATP on the Coventry to Channel Islands run which started on lastTuesday this was being operated by the MNG Friendship up until then.

In the hangar at Coventry two weeks ago Magic Birds other ATP was being serviced this might have joined the Atlantic Airlines fleet on lease if this is the case so releasing the Friendships.

From what |I can make out there are a number of the MNG Friendships based a Filton at the moment.

So the idea of F27 aircraft at Coventry could be MNG related in association with Atlantic Airline??

Not sure about the MagicBird ATPs, but I was under the impression that MNG's Fokker 27s were "standing in" for Emerald's (stored) Shorts 360s/HS 748s - since there wasn't enough spare UK cargo capacity to take up the slack once Emerald was grounded.

Cheers

From what was on the CAA Licensing site, it is Atlantic Airlines applying for a 12 month lease from 200606 till 300707 on a wet lease agreement awaiting more ATPs, also an application for a 4 month lease on two of there Airbus 300s, more information to be found on the CAA Licensing web sight

There were also the Farnair Fk27's that were lurking around Coventry for a while.

I believe a new cargo service has started up between Coventry & Kassel using a Citation which has been converted to a freighter

BAC are rumoured to be on the scene at Coventry. Certainly a 360 arrived during the week using the rapex call sign.

This is a subsiduary of the Royal Mail - GLS Air based in Kassel using two Citation II which have been converted to freight use. Currently bringing some traffic in but emtpy on the outbound? Quite why RM want to use a 900 kilo capacity acft one way only is a mystery!
