Well! Look who's getting into Freighters!
Becoming a pilot with us ...

Licences/Ratings:
Direct Entry Captain Positions:
Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
IF anyone's interested, this is Qantas' new freight carrier! And they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks...

- Captains - a valid Australian ATPL
- First Officers - a valid Australian ATPL
- Valid Class 1 Medical.
- Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.
- 737-300 Type Rating (Preferred).
Direct Entry Captain Positions:
- Total Time - 5000 hours.
- Command Time > 40,000kg: 3000 hours.
- Total Time - 3000 hours.
- Multi-Engine Time - 1500 hours.

Buster, I'd be interested in any other info you could pass on, or direct me to.
I fall short of the hours perhaps, but hope that experience and age might counter this....?

A good friend of mine was offered an interview, he meets all the requirements and wants to move home to Aus. Testing was the typical “QF Space Shuttle Testing” followed by Sim. Salary would not be discussed, he was told it was “negotiable” with the MD.
All was looking good and he was set to come back to oz then recruitment went cold.
No response to email, no follow up at all.
A few days later I was speaking to a mainline FO mate, he said that some of the mainline SO’s had been offered places with EFA in order to fill seats and stop ongoing empty bid lines in mainline.
This would go most of the way to explaining the lack of response from EFA
All was looking good and he was set to come back to oz then recruitment went cold.

There was something on Dunnunda about one of the 733's conversion being screwed up big time. Airframe write off I think...

Now it looks like DJ (Virgin Blue) are getting into the freight act! Possibly with 737's...go have a look on Dunnunda chaps.
