Bare metal looks great on newish aircraft. Not so on old. American are the exception to this rule though.

I once heard that the bare metal look weighed more due to the types of lacquer they used and by reason that it had to be reapplied on a much more regular basis...heard this a few years ago & would be interested to know how true it is.

Even NWA Cargo have gone against their decades old bare metal look and now paint the freighters in full livery.

Personally I prefer full painted livery over bare metal as the latter gives a kind of cheap skate image to the company if the entire fleet is not in that look.

Boeing's -400BCF has MTOW: 870k/lb, MLW: 652k/lb and MZFW: 610k/lb (which I think is same as -400F). I think the Bedek programme has similar weights.
