Ocean Airlines - 747 Operator out of Brescia

Anyone know much about this 747 cargo operator out of Brescia, Italy? I have seen the website so I am partially familiar. It sounds like they might be expanding and adding more 747-200s in the future. Anyone have info on QOL, schedules, newhire FO pay, do you have to live in Brescia (not bad)? Where have they sourced their current pilots? Do you need a type to apply?

Any info would be helpful

Cheers

OCEAN AIRLINES CREW

I hear most of the pilots are Italians with some agency.
They are TRTO and have done a few type rate courses in recent months.
Operate to HKG ex Brescia but heard recently that their flights to Shanghai PVG were suspended indefinitely. No reason given and nothing on their website www.oceanairlines.com

MAWB, where did you hear about PVG getting suspended? Curious to know as that is an expanding destination for 747F carriers.

I was in PVG recently on other aviation business and was told by their handling agent there. No reason given - they dont understand either as all flights from there were full.

ocean airlines

they simply cant afford to operate this service - they have lost their two weekly charter services because they were asking for too much money ( the flights were prepaid by the charterer ) and they cant pay the outstanding bills at their intermediate stop (ALA ) for their two weekly scheduled flights on their own account - it takes some financial strenght to keep operating while you are waiting for the cash to come in thru the IATA clearing house

Have seen or heard nothing from Ocean in the trade media for past few months. Last I read about they were taking delivery of another 747 this year but that was last year and no update recently. Also my contact in HK say that they have cancelled some services in the recent past at very short notice. Their website www.oceanairlines.com has no new information. Anybody know anything ????
