A380 belly cargo

Whilst looking into the various aspects of 380 belly cargo capacity I could not come up with some make sense figures.
I asked around, ranging from Airbus to future users, resulting in answers like,
it takes 15 t at typical cu.ft. density to, it can take nothing on a long haul flight full pax due to fuel requirements.
Now, even 15 t is not much either, same as a 744, so where are the economics if companies bought this aircraft with the assumption that revenue cargo would add to the bottum line.
As an aside, EK's cargo boss R.M opinioned that the stretch version with stronger engines would take care of this.
Any learned opinions and views on this forum?
Regards
E.B.

Have you read the flight international report into the 380? Flight (pdf)

It says pretty much the same thing as you said above, again no definitive figures.

And what should make the A380 different from any other aircraft in that respect?
