" Nippon Cargo airlines Co. and Luxembourg based Cargolux airlines on Thursday announced an agreement to forge a close working relationship as the two launch customers of Boeing 747-8 freighters- the stretched and upgraded version of the Boeing 747.
The accord was announced by Takuro Uchiyama, president and chief executive officer of NCA, and Ulrich Ogiermann, president and CEO of Cargolux airlines International S.A., during a press conference in Tokyo.
The two carriers said they would jointly respond to Boeing's invitation to take part in a "Working Together" program to help define the 747-8F's final specifications and characteristics. Larry Dickenson, senior vice president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, also was at the press conference."
