Fred Smith did this very same exercise over thirty years ago and came to the conclusion that bigger aircraft would pay better...and he was right...they DO.

Good luck.

Thanks Aslak

Thank you very much for the mail.

If you can assist I would appreciate.I am stuck between a rock and a hard place as far as getting the performance gen , all the sites I have visited only give brochure info which are utterly useless .

The Falcons I have looked at all have the GE CF700-2D-2 engines

Have a good one

Cheers

Flight Refuelling Aviation at Bournemouth - UK operate some of these. They may be able to help with some of the numbers. Tel +44 1202 409013

I suspect that you'll be weight limited on take-off though. If I recall correctly, FRA's Falcons were certficated to a higher MTOW than the standard fit.

MTOW - 30 000lbs
MLW - 27320lbs
MZFW - 22000lbs

Good luck

Ah...well yes, hotelmode, the CF700 is what they were originally certified with.
However, some have been re-engined with TFE731's, but I don't think any freighters were....standing by to be corrected, of course.

the old mans jet

I was lucky enough to fly the cargo version Falcon 20, mostly all ex-FedEx aircraft, hauling cargo all over Europe, USA, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean. Here are some of my notes:

Max T/off & Ldgs 10000feet
Max Runway Slope +/- 2 degrees
Max Tailwind 10 kts
Crosswind 25 kts
Max Ceiling 42000 feet

Max T/O 28660 lbs
Taxi 28660 lbs
Ldg Wt 27320 lbs
ZFW 22000 lbs

Vmo/Mmo 350Kias M .85
Fuel capacity 2x470 (feeders)& 2x2089 (mains)
Total Fuel 5006 lbs

and many many more details if anyone interested

I dont know of any re-engined freighters. The company I flew for
were considering Garrets back in 1994 but were too costly compared to sticking with the CF 700 2Dīs. I never was able to get up to FL 420, honestly never tried past 390 as the engines were fairly clapped out. The Coast Guard flew the retro-fits, anyone remember the picture? Any ex or current Falcon pilots out there ?
