I.M.O. it will be a very dark day indeed, if FedEx ever win the right to fly internal or inter European services out of the UK, using US registered & crewed aircraft. As this case has shown they are very protective of US domestic operations.

Well, as it is today FedEx fly pretty much what they like in Europe using CDG as hub for inter European services, using US registered & crewed aircraft.

Didn't that come about as a favour to one of the Fedex directors for political services rendered to HM government?
