Linstrim, the Lear that crashed (G-MURI) while carrying Coulthard and his girlfriend, and in which both pilots were killed, was owned by David Murray (former chairman of plucky underdogs Rangers FC), not by Coulthard himself. Someone looked down on him that day.

May be wrong but I believe all the teams pay for their transport. However, those teams that have scored points receive money from FOM [think thats correct] towards their travel costs.
I remember when Mark Webber in a Minardi finished 5th at the Australian GP in 2002 and Paul Stoddart said that it would be worth a couple of million dollars to the team for travel the next year.
