Angry Harare perishable perils

Freighter crews passing through Harare should be aware that there is the possibility of aggressive action from certain growers over shipments left off flights. Recently some forwarders have been refusing product for shipping, if it is know to be have originated at an illegally occupied farm (quite correctly). The Dutch authorities are also monitoring what makes its way on to the floors at Alsmeer.

As is to be expected, the "new farmers" have taken the law into their own hands. Today they shut down operations at a major forwarding house for several hours and beat up staff members (male and female).Although it is unlikely these individuals will approach an aircraft, they certainly had no problem breaching CAAZ security this afternoon so loadies and engineers be vigilant.

Am I glad we don't fly through there anymore. I've spent more hours on the ramp there than I care to remember. Suppose the terminal windows are still smashed?
