Cortisol Depleted

At least your old company had talent.

ToCatLady 6th October 2021 14:07

Haha

We won’t be getting an new simulator instructors any time soon as they are currently in closed loop complaining about their hotel room humidity and the fact they are getting too many G days upon completion!

Not as cute as you, though! Mwah xx

Coronavirus 7th October 2021 13:55

I've only heard about this on this platform. I've asked fellow skippers and SFOs and no one has heard anything either.

Bokpiel 7th October 2021 18:22

Of course it is.

What stops you or me from starting a BS rumour about X amount of pilots/instructors doing this or that? Well, except for having something better to do with our lives of course.

jetjockey696 11th October 2021 04:08

You mean 35 examiners left.. not instructors. :} I thought, no teaching with CX, every time you step in the sim is a test. you pass you good for another 6 mths.

Donblock 20th October 2021 00:19

I see they’re advertising for sim instructors.

Would anyone be ask kind to share the package details etc.

Retiring from flying soon. Many thanks.

BuzzBox 20th October 2021 01:12

I've no idea as to the current package they're offering, but one of the listed requirements is 'Hong Kong Permanent Resident'.

Jnr380 20th October 2021 08:31

The 35 sim instructors we’re not really chasing pay, they did this gig to keep themselves active. Money was not a motivator for most of them. Now for them to resign, what does that tell you about the package?

dabz 20th October 2021 12:03

Their conditions have changed too.

Being unable to easily fly to their home countries without quarantine is a massive hit to lifestyle.

BuzzBox

Interestingly enough, none of the 8 or so biz jet Capt vacancies in HKG require a PR (they do, however, need a type rating). Maybe they do need one, and it's simply not listed in the advert.

Bueno Hombre 4th November 2021 10:06

Sometimes, but by no means always, first officers have better knowledge than Captains and so can make good sim instructors .

oriental flyer 4th November 2021 11:40

Yeah right , a 25 year old has more real world experience than a seasoned Captain who goes on to become a sim instructor . There may be some exceptions, there are to every generality but I would take a seasoned sim instructor over an FO any day. This is not a criticism of F.O’s we have some excellent aviators . Just my thoughts

Flex88 4th November 2021 14:35

Sometimes ?

Bueno Hombre

This is not about just "knowledge", that's more suited to math instructors.. Experience, expertise and the ability to "impart" those qualities NOT just "book knowledge is what they should be looking for re instructors.
Seems BH (and CX generally) are ok with the destruction of a meritocracy in lieu of "qualified" and known trained professional instructors... Cheap, cheap, cheap..........

Oasis 4th November 2021 17:23

Fo's with a command (not a single seat prop) in a previous life should be capable enough for sim instruction for a captain, otherwise its a hard no.

So what? Never has been a prerequisite.
