If true , good job to the crew despite my feelings
about HKA |
Good job how? I guess they didn't crash if thats what you mean.
Not saying they didn't do a good job and I am sure their adrenaline was pumping, but landing safely with an engine out and (seemingly) few other factors...well I mean would we expect anything less from an airline pilot? |
Wrong runway lineup
Last week (Thursday night I believe) an HKA aircraft landed on runway 07R, when actually cleared for the ILS 07L
Just another example. |
Good as in they didn't drive it into a primary school.
Whilst a simple engine out is handle with ease at most carriers, a large percentage of HKA pilots failed their interview sims only to be passed by singaswine paper pushers after the fact. A surprise to the checker a few weeks later when he saw them in the office. |
Rumour is it was an engine surge/stall and was shut down, but re-lit during descent and diversion to Fukuoka.
HKA is in an ETOPs proving program at present. Bad news. |
