Please clarify these engine types.
I have spent 2 hours trying to figure this out !
Here (BCF) and here ( 747-400 pax) they appear to have the same engines. http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/open.file/0982443/M/ http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/open.file/1088913/M/ And i thought all CX 747-400 had the RB 211, But here: These engines look and shape seems totally different..what gives? http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/open.file/0903775/L/ Thanks ! While you are looking, does the BCF have the same engines as the other CX 744s? |
Aircraft is an ex-Singapore Airlines aircraft. All the ones bought from SIA has Pratt and Witney engines. (Says so in the remark of the photograph too :ok: )

As Ibanez says most CX 744's have RB211's while the ex-SIA aircraft have Pratt and Witneys.
The ex-SAA 744's are RB211 engined and will be in service when CX has finished having them converted to Freighters (I believe). Currently the BCF's are B-HOU which is RB211 engined and B-HKH which is Pratt and Witney engined. |
