What management have to ask is how the legacy carrier of choice got itself into a position that pilots are now happier working for a low cost airline.

Attended a preview of the latest BA recruiting roadshow. WOW. No expense spared and a career in flying pushed very hard indeed plus the concept that at the heart of any airline is it's pilots.

Morning coffee old chum,
None of your desperate management ramblings on PPRUNE are having any effect on the ever increasing resignation rate.

Jet 2 Bases:
Belfast, Birmingham, East Mids, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, London Stansted, Manchester, Newcastle.

Once employed they they work hard to get you to your base of choice as soon as possible if they can’t offer it to you immediately as they know pilots living close to home are happier, more productive & less likely to look elsewhere for work.

He can kiss goodbye to his summer holidays spent with his kids then ! Holidays in November and February. Nice. Quality of life? Each to his own.

But if his kids have already left school- then holidays at those times are cheaper anyway

Well i've seen it all now. Yes, the UK must be a real backwards step in quality of life, I mean the pollution in HK is not a problem, the quality of food in HK is magnificent, the quality of schools in HK are world leaders, the quality of private healthcare in HK is simply fantastic, the quiet lifestyle here in HK is so calming, the beaches in HK are some of the most cleanest I have ever seen and the housing, need I say anything else..............Yes, each to their own

November is a great month for a long haul holiday using CX retired ST benefits. Feb good for skiing in Europe. If that is when the time off is then easy to make the most of it

GD, you are a comic mate. After 20+ years I can't be sure of getting a SINGLE desired day or holiday off at CX to spend with my kids. And you chose that subject to try and make a positive comparison for CX? :ugh:

Well GD I asked him...as facts are always better than fiction!

This summer he had 2 weeks in August, even though only his first year in the company, made up of 9 days leave and requested days off wrapped round....

He's also making the most of the winter leave options.....so yes, each to their own, but for him quality of life was paramount and Jet2 is light years ahead in that respect.
