3 for 3
3 new destinations being announced soon (CPH,DFW,BRU) while 3 current CX destinations will be cancelled (PEK/DPS/DUS). Not much expansion then

Maybe KA can take PVG while their at it.
|
They actually get paid waiting in line for an hour to push in and out of China, whereas a cx we don't...
|
Which is why they should take PVG too.

Pax destinations. Even the colleagues on the 747 are forgotten by their brothers.

I saw this week's "Monday Morning Quarterback" spoke of something exciting being announced later this week. I was hoping the Slogan Department was going to announce a new inspiring slogan. I was hoping for something to record management's progress at HPE talks, "Time to Grin" perhaps?
Imagination my disappointment if the announcement is 3 new destinations and the loss of 3 crappy destinations.... |

Or, maybe LH will launch a DUS flight, and CX will put a flight # on it meaning BRU or CPH can take its place. |
In these trying times in which harsh competition and difficult economic conjecture completely outside of this management's reach and responsibility weigh heavily on this company's results, it is only a sensible decision to defer aircraft deliveries, consolidate frequencies and prune less profitable desti.....
...Oh, we're adding destinations, you say? Aircraft keep coming, you say? Sorry, my bad. Carry on. :hmm: |

...Oh, we're adding destinations, you say? Aircraft keep coming, you say? Sorry, my bad. Carry on. :hmm: But in a strategy quite unique to aviation the company plans on not charging the shareholder for these acquisitions but instead charge their staff, as well as charging staff for fuel hedging gambles, currency hedging gambles, cartel fines, cadet pilot training and management bouneses whilst simultaneously asking the said staff to work harder. One can only assume this will result in an exceptional, watertight staff profit sharing scheme..... |
Must be new service to FNJ the hedge hog thought of it all by himself and we all know he can't be wrong

Hearing Dublin to be the right answer not Dallas.

DFW has the south america dream written all over it, 5th freedom and or other stuff.
Not to mention tons of long runways, efficient traffic flow and great ATC, generally good weather, modern efficient terminals (as opposed to the DC-8 days setup at places like LAX), a true gateway to the Americas and other carriers, centrally located, a fair bit of operations but not all that busy compared to NY or SFO, plenty of room for expansion, business friendly climate, you name it. A REAL win. |
DUS would not surprise me. Air Berlin is having its fair share of drama, and they are our one world connection partner. CPT, PHL, CLT, MEX, MUC, BER (when open), and SEA are apparently being scouted too.
|
Do any of us really care where we fly? We should care what we are paid to operate, no matter the destination. The company loves to dangle 'expansion' and 'new destinations' whenever they are trying to screw us. Over 20+ years of experience tells me so. Don't even get caught up in the discussion of destinations; they are a red herring designed to distract you.

Oh, come one. Don't you feel excited about the opportunity to spend 24 hours in a new airport hotel in the middle of a 30+ hours duty? :} |
Beat me to it Yonosoy. Maybe Shep can recommend a good 24 hour BBQ Rib delivery for the DFW airport Hilton.
|
Probably no Chinatown in Dallas or Fort Worth. On the plus side, you can always go to Chick-Fil-A, except on Sundays. God Bless Texas!!!
|
come on YUL do it!

...great....this is much more important than pay, benefits and retirement. I'm heading to Brussels....the chips and mayonnaise will make up for all of that :ok:
|
And in a few years when you're told beers have gone out of fashion, they'll pull out of BRU, CPH and DUB and maybe pick another few new exciting destinations.
DUS has money to be made from those pharma giants, it's just CX can no longer keep fooling them with our 'superior premium product' on the 350. EK, EY, NH, SQ fly there too offer way better biz class (and econ for that matter). |
Soon it'll be 24 hour stays everywhere so hardly worth the hype.

Ehm, isn't it the PAX who need to be enticed by the destination? Surely you joined to fly...*✈️ |
