Fire on CX250
CX 250 LHR-HKG was forced to make an emergency landing in Siberia over a possible 'aft cargo hold fire'

Please, please, please tell me Apollo Commander Greene wasn't PIC on this flight. I can't bear to read another 10000 word rant. Here's what we all expect.
Dear Gus, cargo fire indication en-route, diverted to UNNT, no fire discovered after landing, nil further. Thanks. |
Not being magically controlled by strings from above like TB4, and never having been to UNNT myself, I'd be interested in any brief musings/lessons learnt from the crew. Guess that's not mean spirited enough round here though.

Actually that is something constructive that I would like to see. When the facts came in on any event of consequence send out an immediate email of a summary of the facts. Wouldn't need any editorializing or analysis or atta boys. Just what happened in a timely matter--and this should beat the press. Unchecked imagination can head in wrong directions quite fast.

What type of a/c was it? Coconut news(best reporting in HKG) had a pic of a 747. I didn't think the 747 was doing LHR - HKG these days.
p.s. O'Doyle Rules!!! |
If only they had been 4 crew they could have continued after a quick engineering check. Ah shame it was only 3...........

Glass Half Empty:
Perhaps I missed the sarcasm, but the flight in question had four pilots. CX250 is not one of the flights that is operated with three pilots. |
2 pilots and a dog who barks when someone falls asleep. The SPCA wouldn't let the dog work as long as the pilots. That would be cruelty to animals. |
Fleet news letter says that the recovery pilot was a passenger on CX250???
Another G Day worker? |
Probably a work day by the time it got going again.
