CX has its 70th birthday coming up next weekend. MANY HAPPY RETURNS! |
ALGOL ??
What's that got to do with Typhoon Meranti ???? Bit off thread isn't it ?? Just wondering !!!!! |
True. But when the personal insults are flying - what do they expect?
I'm not one for corporate BS myself actually. It's not how I define myself, having worked in several companies, and at least one being streets ahead of anything I see here. The original question was general in nature, but the corporate shills from CX took it as a personal slight on their company (and therefore themselves) and hijacked the thread. |
Got a reference for that? Not saying it not true - just interested in why you quote particular number. The CX flight that encountered hail was climbing out of HKG according to AVHerald. Pretty busy airspace. Yet it was the only aircraft that seems to have reported a serious hail encounter. How come? Did all the rest succesfully avoid it (even without magic radar)? You've missed the point mate, just as you've done all along. The point being '**** happens' The three examples of CX turbulence/CB encounters were not attacks on CX crews - they were an illustration that your attacks on OTHER crews are stupid and arrogant. Remember what this thread was about, your unfounded claim that flying through a typhoon at altitude in itself is a hazard, and that your management would not listen to your concerns because CX crews were flying through the same weather without an issue. I guess we'll have to wait for the outcome of the Official Report on that CX incident to find out exactly how many NM(30+?) they were from the nearest CB, and why nobody else took a hit. Were they not on a SID? Did they deviate into the WX? The report (in its crappy english) says the crew went for a gap between two cells 40Nm apart. |

MANY HAPPY RETURNS! So, you've been proven an incompetent idiot, with a total lack of met basics, then argued like a fool about something you (alarmingly) know little about, so you post an article about a (whopping) 9 aircraft order at your employer. That showed everyone. You look like a moron. Give it up. |
9 aircraft.... holy crap. thats insane....
They should have ordered an even 10 and really showed every one up lol J |
Departed HKG but not in the HKG FIR at the time. It was still in climb. All three events were in clear air, which is a case of unfortunate circumstances. Running off a runway at CNS because you cannot execute a 180 in an airliner on a marked turning is not such a case Why would there be an official report ? The report says they went through an area painted magenta, what I would have done differently is during the climb and at top of climb adjusted the tilt of the radar so I was scanning what was infront and blelow the path, not 5 degrees up. They should have ordered an even 10 and really showed every one up CX is what? 49? The times they are a-changin' boys! |
49? Are you sure about that? Add 100 and you'll be in the ballpark.
5 350s delivered with 43 more to come, I believe. 21 777X immediately after. So, twice as many orders as HKAs entire fleet. Why are you here? To question the professionalism or training of CX pilots? Nice. Careful with those stones in your (thin-paned) glass house. |
More and more it seems Argol is out to prove something, that his airline is just as good as ours. (and i'm sure it is!)
Take care Argol, don't derive you self worth from what people think of you, just derive it from what you think of you. |
The report (in its crappy english) Actually there are a couple more 330's due this year, aside from that order, then the 15 A350's start arriving next year. The total current a/c in the whole fleet is 33, becoming 35 by years end, then the 9 A330's plus 15 A350's. That'll be 59. |
His "49" was a reference, I would say.
|
Algol must be related to DCP Airbus......didn't he lose his temper on Yammer because a couple of guys challenged him about needless apostrophes?
|
You guys in CX spend a lot of time at work looking for needless apostrophes?
No wonder your company is fast approaching bankruptcy. HKA will take your A350's. You might be allowed in too - after a rigorous interview and epic Sim check. SJW:"instructuctions" |
Did you find the little sim check difficult Algol?
You're sounding very much like a Cat D FO who couldn't hack it at CX.

I kicked CX to the kerb when you were still in nappies.
You haven't progressed much since I note. 49? Are you sure about that? Add 100 and you'll be in the ballpark. 5 350s delivered with 43 more to come, I believe. 21 777X immediately after. So, twice as many orders as HKAs entire fleet This is fun, innit! Your turn! |
I thought he was writing with a funny accent.
I always find it hard to decipher bull**** from petulant children. Algol, you're a total tool. If you can't tell by now that almost everyone on this thread is laughing at your puerile comments, then you are even more immature than you portray. Just do us all a favour and shove the keyboard where the sun doesn't shine. I'm sure it will fit judging by the volume of crap that's come out of said orifice and onto this thread. |
